Quick mini life update

Happy Wednesday!! Ok let me preface this by saying that I have jokingly mentioned that my short-term memory really is just the absolute worst. I say this because at times, I just forgot all my blog. There have also been times when I have sat down to write, but the truth is that this just can’t be forced. With that said, I started blogging again for a reason so let’s get to it. I saw an Instagram post recently that said stop waiting for the perfect time to really do anything. This can be applied to so many things in our lives but for the purpose of this post, we’re gonna apply this to avoiding to write because I can’t find the perfect words. Well no more! I’ll be posting even if they’re short posts to share a thought for the day, a bible verse or anything really. I will roll with whatever happens to inspire me at any given moment.

A quick craft update

You don’t have to be a crafter to know about the unfortunate closing of the Joann Fabric stores! Sigh…. That store holds so many memories for me. My local Michael’s store started to carry more fabric and sewing necessities, however nothing will ever compare to Joann Fabrics for so many reasons. When it comes to Hobby Lobby, I usually wait until they have their 40% off fabric sale but their selection is definitely not what it used to be.

If you know me, then you know that I am always crafting something whether it be sewing or playing with my Silhouette machine creating decals and t-shirts. Over the last few months, my newest obsession involves making beaded bracelets and of course most importantly crafting with my little bestie. Make sure that you’re following me on Instagram and Tiktok because I often share our little crafting sessions and other fun things that I have made.

Work is work LOL

All kidding aside, I will say that I love my job. It’s going on 20 years at the end of this month. GOD is Good!!! To say that this has been one of my life’s biggest accomplishments would be an understatement and most definitely one of my proudest ones. I’ve reached a point within the last couple of years that my love for creativity has been utilized in the office on various projects and I’ve really enjoyed that.

Working out!

This topic is definitely not on my list of favorites, but I don’t really have a choice for many reasons other than the obvious which is to try living a healthier lifestyle. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Osteopenia and Osteoporosis which is obviously no bueno (no good). I have had two bone density tests to get a closer look at the actual progression. Apart from knowing that I need to develop muscle to keep from breaking any bones, I have apparently lost about .8 of an inch in my spine. My aunt always likes to remind us that my Grandpa always said “It’s no fun getting old mija”….

As I approach my 4_th birthday next month (if you know me, then you know which number is missing LOL), so much of this is true. Oh yeah, add hearing loss as it has been two years since I’ve been diagnosed and have been wearing hearing aids…top it all off with unexplained back pain, even more memory fog and a list of other fun things that I will simply just attribute to good ‘ole menopause. More on that in a future post. In the meantime, you have to check out Melanie on Instagram because she has created a worldwide movement known as the “We Do Not Care” club… You really have to check it out for yourself LOL

Onto the more serious topics….

Oh my Heart…

Many of you may be wondering who this beautiful lady is in the photo on the sidebar of my blog homepage. For those who don’t know, she is my Grandmother, Aida. She will always and forever have a dedicated space in everything that I do as she was always my biggest supporter and most importantly, my Saving Grace. To be 100000% transparent, I am not ready yet to share and if you know me personally, then you already know.. Until the day comes when I am ready, I will be sharing many memories with her, photos of her and so much more here on my blog.

Lastly, this brings me to…My Faith Journey

In the near future, I will be sharing an entire post dedicated to the start of my faith journey which began in May of last year. For now, I will say that I have learned so much since then and I have grown so much in my faith. On April 27th, I was baptized and there are literally no words to describe this amazing day in my life. This is definitely a new part of my life that I will be talking about on my blog with the hopes of sharing so much more in time. Until then, I just really wanted to share this exciting and God filling moment in my life with all of you.

If you have known me for long time and read my blog years ago, I will understand if this topic is not for you. However, it is a huge part of who I am today and I will be talking about it quite often. I truly hope that you do stick around because you just never know how or when, but you just may be compelled to open your mind just a little and allow yourself to be curious enough to want to learn more about the word of God.

Matthew 17:20

Jesus said “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

I’ll be back real soon with another post so I hope you stay tuned…
